Just a little pep talk to help you stay motivated – the semester is half way over!  Yay!  Half way to a well-deserved winter break!  But also….half way to final exams!  Yay!  Wait, I mean, Boo!!

By now, you should be well into your outlining, starting to test out your knowledge on some practice exams, and thinking about a study plan for finals (will you study with a group? on your own?  on campus? locked in a room in your house with a “Keep Out!” sign on the door?)

You may be feeling the pressure mounting at this point, and that’s totally normal.  You’ve got a lot of new information to process and remember, and final exams don’t seem as far away as they did at the start of the semester.  But don’t panic!  As long as you make a plan and stick to it, you will be prepared and ready once exams roll around.  When it comes to outlining and exam prep, the best thing you can do for yourself is not procrastinate!  It will only lead to more stress, and more stress is the one thing you don’t need when taking exams!

If you are feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what you should be doing at this point, please take advantage of the Academic Support department.  We are here for that very purpose – to support you and help you create a study plan that works for you!  Email me (Danielle – dkocal@law.pace.edu) or Elizabeth (ecorwin@law.pace.edu) to set up an appointment.  And this help is not only available to first year students – we encourage everyone to come and see us!
